Pakistan Social Centre, Sharjah (PSCS) was established in the 1980s with the aim of spreading the message of brotherhood, connecting the community together and promoting Pakistan-UAE friendship.
PSCS had a moderate beginning. People considered the establishment with their own perspectives and did not exhibit much curiosity to join or become its members. However, the attitude changed over time, and today, PSCS enjoys good membership as the most active associations in the country.
PSCS is actively involved in providing support to the underprivileged members of the community, equipping them with education and socio-cultural abilities, arranging awareness programmes, organising social events and free medical check-ups, etc.
Pakistan Social Centre's current President Khalid Hussain Chaudhry held different positions at PSCS since 1999, and has been personally monitoring all the activities. The month of March this year is dedicated to the celebration of Pakistan Resolution Day, and to date, they have organised three events, including a cricket match between Pakistan Social Centre, Sharjah and the Pakistan Association, Dubai.
A drama based on unity as well as live musical performances and comedy shows were part of Pakistan Day celebrations with the workforce of Pakistan. Dedicated to the labour class, the attendees were given an opportunity to not just celebrate the day and enjoy the event, but also take home prizes and gifts. Another programme is scheduled today at the PSCS Auditorium.
PSCS has a track record of organising events on every occasion - be it for Pakistan or the UAE.
