Low-cost IndiGo links Abu Dhabi with Kerala

The Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) received low-cost airline IndiGo's inaugural flight to and from India on Tuesday. The daily flights will connect the UAE capital with Cochin International Airport (COK) and Calicut International Airport (CCJ).
IndiGo has a fleet of 189 Airbus A320 and 12 ATR aircraft. The inaugural IndiGo flights from Cochin and Calicut touched down on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

A daily non-stop flight from Cochin will depart at 1.30pm and arrive at 4.30pm. The IndiGo service to Cochin will leave Abu Dhabi at 4.30am and will arrive at 10.30am. IndiGo will fly out of Calicut at 12.40am and will arrive in Abu Dhabi at 3.30am. The return IndiGo flight departs at 5.30pm and arrives in Calicut at 11.30pm.

Bryan Thompson, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: "This new addition expands further the network of the capital's airport, to provide our passengers with enhanced connectivity."

William Boulter, chief commercial officer, IndiGo, said: "IndiGo has completed 12 years of operations in India as a low-cost carrier, and adding Abu Dhabi to its network will further augment the regional connectivity that we aspire to provide to our customers."
