As residents are still reeling under the increased parking fee in Dubai, the UAE's Ministry of Energy has announced a further hike in fuel prices for the month of June.
The price of E-Plus 91 will be Dh1.68 a liter, Super 98 will cost Dh1.86 a litre, Special 95 would be available at Dh1.75 and Diesel will cost Dh1.77. All the prices are up compared to the last month.
The new prices, that will be effective starting June 1, were announced as global oil prices continue to recover. There has been a steady increase in the prices since March this year.
In July of 2015, the government had announced the deregulation of fuel prices linking it with the international markets on a monthly average. The decision, related to gasoline and diesel, was aimed at supporting the national economy, lowering fuel consumption, protecting the environment and preserving national resources.
Meanwhile on Saturday, the new parking fee of Dh4 per hour in commercial areas of Dubai, covering 30,000 slots, came into effect. The free parking period at noon has been abolished under the new policy.
