Ever wondered what it would be like to fight alongside the Avengers against Ultron? Or ride a rollercoaster as Spider-Man battles Doc Ock?
Come August this year, adventure seekers will be able to do all that, and more, as IMG Worlds of Adventure opens its gates to the public. Wholly-owned by the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group, the theme park will open on Monday, August 15, 2016, and cater to visitors all year round, said Lennard Otto, chief executive of IMG Worlds of Adventure, at a Press conference on Tuesday.
"All the rides and attractions, all the F&B outlets, and all the zones will be opened to the public in one go. Tickets are priced at Dh300 for adults, and Dh250 for children. The ticket price will allow you access to all the zones, and all the attractions, as part of a full day experience. The park will be open from 10am to 10pm during weekdays, and 10am to midnight on the weekends," Otto said at the 2016 Arabian Travel Market.
"We have several unique attractions that have never been seen before in any part of the world, as well as some prototypes that have been launched in the park itself. We also have a huge selection of rides for visitors of all ages, as well as 28 f&b outlets that will serve a wide variety of cuisines. We also have more than 25 different retails stores within the park itself.
The entire facility is also built to accommodate MICE events, and we also have a 12-screen cinema, that is accessible to the general public, so those that want to just go to the cinema don't have to purchase a ticket to the different zones," he informed.
Otto also said that the IMG Group is looking to bring in roughly 4.5 million people in the park's first full year of operations. He also disclosed that the park has a capacity of up to 30,000 visitors per given day, and that it is roughly the size of 28 football fields. Located in the heart of new Dubai and stretching across 1.5 million square feet, IMG Worlds of Adventure will be the first multi-themed destination to open in the region, and will set Dubai on the map as an international family entertainment hot spot.
IMG Worlds of Adventure is located along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, along Dubai's growth corridor, one of the fastest emerging tourism hubs in Dubai. It is 20 minutes from both Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport, 20 minutes from Dubai Marina, 20 minutes from the Expo 2020 site, and 15 minutes from The Dubai Mall, making it easily accessible for both residents and tourists alike.
"Recently Dubai has been focusing a lot on increasing offerings for a single daytime visit, and our location ensures that people that stop in for a day can experience all that the theme park has to offer," Otto added.
The park contains four zones which include Marvel, Cartoon Network, Lost Valley - Dinosaur Adventure, and IMG Boulevard, spread over 1.5 million square feet in a temperature controlled environment for year-round entertainment. The 350,000sqf Marvel zone will offer a wide range of entertainment experiences from iconic Marvel Super Heroes, including including Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America.
The Cartoon Network zone spans 230,000sqf and will feature exclusive attractions including the first ever Ben 10 5D cinema, which will host up to 1,200 visitors an hour with an exclusive 10 minute 3D movie. Alongside the world's largest Ben 10 retail store, the zone will incorporate the highly popular Cartoon Network brands LazyTown, Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls and The Amazing World of Gumball.
The Lost Valley - Dinosaur Adventure zone has been developed uniquely for IMG Worlds of Adventure and will be the home to over 69 state-of-the-art animatronic dinosaurs. The largest of the four zones, it spans a massive 700,000sqf, including the external coaster 'The Velociraptor', which propels guests to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds and will be the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Dubai.
Lastly, the IMG Boulevard zone covers 200,000sqf and features a diverse range of exciting attractions, including vast retail and dining selections, live entertainment and interactive experiences.
