Stars dazzle on Dubai Film Festivals red carpet

Film fans, industry insiders and celebrities gathered last night at Madinat Jumeirah for the 12th edition of the Dubai Film Festival (DIFF).
The red carpet was rolled out and the festival kicked off with a glamorous start where iconic legends and young stars of the cinema were photographed and interviewed together.  
Dubai welcomed Creed star Michael B Jordan, Academy Award winning actor and star of Jaws, Richard Dreyfuss, Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel, whose movie The Man Who Knew Infinity will be showing during the festival and legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah who will receive a DIFF Lifetime Achievement Award along with iconic French actress Catherine Deneuve who also walked the red carpet.
Egyptian film actresses Safia Al Omari, Poosy, Laila Olwi along with Egyptian hunk Khaled El Nabawy and Tunisian actress Hend Sabri walked through the red carpet interacted with fans and expressed their delight at attending DIFF.  
Infinite Perspectives is the theme of the festival this year, promising a diverse range of films, documentaries and short films from the international, regional to the locally made, all screening until the closing date of the festival on December 16.
The selection of films this year are a reflection of the current tone and mood of the wider world from contemporary social issues, biopics and documentaries of influential and interesting characters.
An impressive array of Arab films from the regional to the locally made and produced are set to impress audiences as the highly anticipated Zinzana and the animated film, Bilal will screen during the festival.
The red carpet was followed by the opening night screening of the powerful and heart wrenching moving movie, Room. Based on the novel by Emma Donoghue, directed by Lenny Abrahamson, the movie stars Brie Larson and young talent Jacob Trembly, who is also set to make an appearance during the festival.
Seen through the perspective of Trembly's five-year-old character, Jack lives a simple life with his mother (Larson) where they have been held captive in a room by a man since Jack's birth.
The movie follows Jack's emotional and physical survival when he and his mother plan an escape and he experiences the real world for the first time.
