Heavy rains lead to accidents, tailbacks on UAE roads

Multiple accidents have been reported leading to morning rush hour traffic.

Thunder rains lashed most parts of the emirates this morning with Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi receiving heavy showers. The NCMS also issued a warning about poor visibility of less than 1000 metres caused by blowing dust.
As expected with the heavy rains, roads have been hit with slow moving traffic in most parts of the city. Multiple accidents have been reported causing early morning congestion on the roads.

The weather will continue to be unstable, NCMS reported. Thunder rains hit Fujairah, Sharjah, Al Ain and adjoining areas while it rained moderately in other parts. Residents are experiencing lights rains in some parts.

An accident has been reported on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road near Arabian Ranches towards Sharjah.
Another accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed road towards Abu Dhabi. Traffic is moving slow and motorists are advised to drive with caution.
There has been another rain-related accident towards Abu Dhabi after Garhoud Bridge, leading to morning rush hour congestion.
