UAE leaders greet Indonesia President on Independence Day

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory cable to Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, on the occasion of his country's national day anniversary.
Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also dispatched similar cables to President Widodo.

According to official figures, an estimated 100,000 Indonesians are currently living and working in the UAE, with 52,000 of them based in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.  
Just recently, the two countries announced targeting a significant increase in bilateral trade to $5.5 billion after the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology and Indonesia's National Standardisation Agency and National Accreditation Committee signed an agreement to harmonise standards for halal products.
