Kayamkulam - The compartment caught fire after a man tried to set himself ablaze after he was caught for alleged theft.

A compartment of Mumbai-bound Netravati Express caught fire at Kayamkulam on Tuesday after a man tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire, media reports.
No casualties have been reported so far and railway officials have informed that all the passengers are safe.
According to Malayala Manorama report, it is suspected that the compartment caught fire after a man tried to set himself ablaze after he was caught for alleged theft. He has been taken into custody.
It is reported that Anas, who was pulled up by other passengers in the train for a robbery attempt, locked up himself up inside the bathroom and set his clothes on fire.
Anas had reportedly tried to grab a bag from a passenger. No other passengers were hurt in the incident. Soon after the fire broke out, the coach was detached from others.
