Chennai - According to the police official, a three-feet-wide crater was created in the garden at the explosion spot.

One person was killed and three others were injured in a yet unexplained blast on Saturday in the garden of an engineering college in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, around 170 km from here, police said.
"There seems to be an explosion in the garden. Due to the impact, a driver employed by the college and others were hit by flying stones. While the driver died, three others were injured," a police official told IANS over phone from the site of the incident.
He said the incident happened inside the Bharathidasan Engineering College in Natrampalli in Vellore district.
According to the police official, a three-feet-wide crater was created in the garden at the explosion spot.
The official said police were combing the college premises to ascertain the reason for the blast.
