 26-year-old Kayla Muller was abducted near Aleppo while helping refugees of the Syrian civil war in 2013.

 Militants claimed on Friday that the Prescott-born aid worker had been killed by a Jordanian airstrike

The Identity of Kayla Mueller was kept secret by the US, fearing that it would affect her safety in captivity

 Mueller had been working with the humanitarian aid agency Support to Life, as well as a local organisation that helped female Syrian refugees develop skills

 Mueller is the fourth American to die in the captivity of Daesh militants.

 She was a student at Northern Arizona University and was active in the Save Darfur Coalition

 Mueller had worked to help people in need in India, Israel, the Palestinian territories and in Arizona.
