Jamshed was born in Karachi on September 3, 1964, and wanted to be an air force pilot. However, his weak eyesight prevented this.
Not saddened by this setback, he continued working on his other interest, music, and soared to fame in the 1980s with Vital Signs, one of Pakistan's first pop bands, fondly called the Beatles of Pakistan.
Then, at the peak of a successful solo career in the 1990s, he gave up all his stardom and turned to God, focusing on religious music, or nasheeds.
Here's a video of Jamshed supposedly performing his last call to prayer. While Khaleej Times cannot independently verify the veracity of this video, it's a mesmerising prayer call nonetheless. Have a listen.
