It's hard to find the right Red, Pink and Nude... As a make-up artist, it's my job to find the perfect shades to match the majority of skin tones. So, after giving hundreds of women makeovers, here are the shades that seem to be a favourite!
RED: MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo
PINK: Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in Petal Pink
NUDE: Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 250 Beige Mirage
SCRUB UP
Keep your lips super smooth with Glamglow POUTMUD Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment. It keeps your lips free of flaky and dry skin.
LIP TRICK
Apply highlighter on your Cupid's bow and a touch of it in the middle of your lower lip using your finger. When the light bounces off, it gives the illusion of plumper lips!
DIY LIP BUFFER
If you want to exfoliate your lips with items you already have at home, then try this: smother lots of Vaseline all over dry lips and, using a toothbrush, gently brush your lips to leave them soft and smooth!
KEEP HYDRATED
Other than drinking lots of water to keep your skin and lips hydrated, you can also keep them moist using a tinted lip balm. This way, your pout can have some colour too! Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Lip Balm has a subtle tint, and keeps lips hydrated.
PLUMP IT!
Keep your lips plumped with a shade of coral this summer. Sephora Outrageous Effect Volume Lip Gloss comes in four summery shades.
LIPSTICK HACK
Summer is finally here and it's heating up nicely! Keep your lipsticks from melting by putting them in the fridge at night!
FAKE IT
Apply a touch of concealer (five shades darker than your skin tone) just above your Cupid's bow, and blend until it leaves a subtle shadow to give the illusion of a lifted Cupid's bow!
