It would be a dream come true to eat whatever you want to and not gain weight. Donald Trump is envied by many for many reasons. And now to add to that list we find out that he eats pasta, steaks and hamburgers. And he doesn't seem to have gained much weight over the years. So that's another reason to envy the most powerful man in the world. Of course, He-man is the most powerful man in the universe. He too has an American accent. But I digress.
Do we take seriously the revelations of diets by billionaires? Are they less than honest or should we believe in the essential goodness of the human race and stop being so cynical. You can eat and make sure you burn the calories you consume. I am not one to advocate food challenges. In the battle of man versus food, I'd rather let food win every single time.
Do you ever get the sense the Japanese are laughing at us? For years we've been hearing about how things are done in Japan: from how to run a car company to how to deal with your frustrations at the office. Are they coming up with this stuff so that the rest of the world will blindly follow it because the Japanese are 'doing' it? To update this line of argument: Are the Chinese laughing at us?
The point I'm making is we're quick to listen and sometimes blindly emulate billionaires. We have to realize very few of us are going to reach those stratospheric levels of wealth in our lifetimes. It's sad but if you work hard enough, you might still only get so far. So let's take the words and deeds of billionaires with a generous sprinkling of cayenne pepper.
Warren Buffett eats like a six year old, according to The Daily Telegraph.  A six year old whose parents let him eat ice cream for breakfast, burgers for lunch,  drink five to six cans of Coke a day and eat as many shoestring chips as he can. Bill Gates drinks three to four cans of Diet Coke a day. Richard Branson drinks 20 cups of tea every day. Steve Jobs ate either a fruit or vegetable for weeks at a time. He was extremely fond of apples and carrots. Oprah Winfrey is a big fan of potatoes cooked in different ways.
