Around 990 expired packets, including cosmetic products, were seized as the Abu Dhabi City Municipality cracked down on beauty parlours and salons in Abu Dhabi Island.
The inspection drive was led by Al Bateen Municipal Centre and the cases were referred to the court for further action.
The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport - Abu Dhabi City Municipality is keen to ensure health standards at such facilities. The campaign seeks to ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation conditions, and safety of the community.
The municipality plans to enforce hygienic stipulations in the commercial sector, including cosmetics sale outlets. The municipality wants to verify the storage and sale of beauty products is in line with the quality standards set in Abu Dhabi. The campaign aims to educate cosmetics sale outlets about the stipulations and safety requirements.
The municipality will continue similar campaigns covering other areas.
