United Arab Emirates; ANI:ME, the biggest celebration of Japanese popular culture and a regional first from the creators of the Middle East Film & Comic Con, welcomes to its stage live performances by two of the most iconic anisong (anime music) Supergroups, JAM Project and FLOW with their first live performances in the region. ANI:ME is set to take place on 27th to 29th Octoberat the du Forum, Yas Island with tickets now on sale at Virgin Megastores and through the Ticketmaster website.
JAM Project
JAM ("Japan Animationsong Makers") Project was launched in 2000 by powerful singers representing the anisong industry. Leading the group is Hironobu Kageyama, the man behind various hits including the theme songs for Dengeki Sentai Changeman, Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball Z, which sold more than 1.3 million copies. Masaaki Endoh sang the theme song Yuusha-oh Tanjou! for Gaogaigar; and the fourth and fifth opening theme songs of YU-GI-OH! 5Ds. Hiroshi Kitadani's debut single We Are! was used as the first opening theme song for the anime One Piece and was a huge hit. Masami Okui is a singer-songwriter for many legendary animes such as Slayers, la fillette revolutionnaire UTENA, and SHIROBAKO. And Yoshiki Fukuyama is the vocalist for his first band Hummingbird whose Let's Fire album was recognized as the Anime Department's Album of the Year at the Japan Gold Disc Award. While well known for many great tracks, JAM Project have recently garnered more than 13 million views of their song 'THE HERO ikareru kobushini hiwotukero' the opening theme from popular anime One Punch Man. They will be singing all their best known songs as a group and what they're best known for as individual superstars as well!
FLOW
FLOW is a five-piece rock band consisting of two vocalists, a drummer, a bassist and a guitarist. Their songs have been featured in the opening sequences of several anime series such as GO!!! and Re:member for the Naruto series, Days for Bone's Eureka Seven and Answer for the live action Japanese drama Tantei Gakuen Q andthey've attracted fans all over the world. They also did a cover for Cha-La Head-Cha-La as the main theme song for the theatrical film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. The song coupled with an insert song from the film was released as a double A-side single. Recently, their song was used as the main theme of the latest title of Tales of series, mega-hit game series over the world, and also its TV-anime. Fans were wildly excited to this new collaboration. Fans can look forward to their favourite tracks as they hit the stage at ANI:ME this October!
Both JAM Project and FLOW's highly energetic live performances and popularity in the anisong industry have garnered them an international following that has taken them on tours around the world. For the first time ever, they will be performing live in the Middle East, meeting their fans and bringing an unforgettable anisong experience to the region!
