Shopping has been made easier for women in the capital with the introduction of free 'Pink' parking spaces in a city mall.
Al Wahda Mall has introduced more than 80 pink parking bays exclusively for women shoppers.

The pink parking slots are allocated in the ground floor of the mall and the extension area, making it the first mall in Abu Dhabi to lead the way with and promote the Abu Dhabi government's initiative.
Al Wahda Mall authorities said they have introduced the hassle free parking for its women shoppers for ease and convenience and to encourage them to come for shopping again and again.

Mohammed Nauman Thakur, General Manager, Al Wahda Mall said: "More than 50 per cent of the shoppers at Al Wahda Mall are women, hence we are always looking at providing them with the best shopping experience and clubbing it with convenience and ease."
"Reserved parking spaces for women shoppers, encourages them to visit the mall more often and eases out their woes to look out for parking giving them a feeling of oneness with the mall."

He added that they are looking at aligning the mall initiatives with that of the government, and provide women with pink parking bays known as 'Ladies Parking.
"We are very pleased by this initiative and would be looking forward to spread the message and benefits to as many mall goers as possible," said Thakur.
"We would want everyone to take advantage of our new set-up and enjoy all that the mall has to offer."
Emirati mother, Aisha Mohammed said: "This is really a brilliant initiative and will ease shopping for us."

"I always go shopping in the mall with my kids especially on weekends, but I have been finding it hard to get an empty parking space especially on the ground floor."
Another shopper, Vivian A., 32, from Philippines said: "The free parking spaces for ladies will attract me go to the mall more frequently."
"Sometimes I have been reluctant to go to the mall on some weekends because I hate driving through all the parking floors looking for a free space to park my car."

Mall officials noted that the mall is also introducing 'H.E.R. TUESDAYS' another ladies special marketing initiative that will offer more discounts and privileges every Tuesdays for all women shoppers, between 10am to 3pm.
Spanning across an area of 3.3 million square feet, Al Wahda Mall is located in the heart of Abu Dhabi city with over 350 stores and over 100 kiosks and attracts around 30 million visitors annually.
