Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, presented the awards to the winners in various categories
Major Saif Al Falasi, head of the traffic and patrol department at Ajman Police, said the police launched an inspection campaign targeting reckless drivers and those modifying their vehicles.
He said the action came after the police received many complaints about the "irresponsible behaviour of reckless drivers". Residents complained of illegally modified cars that produced annoying sounds.
Major Al Falasi said the police will continue the inspection campaign to put an end to the illegal practice. The campaign focusses on roads that witness frequent accidents due to reckless driving.
The police are also carrying out awareness campaigns to spread traffic safety culture among the public, he added.
