A 22-year-old Australian man was arrested at the Dubai airport allegedly in possession of candy-coated cannabis, a court was told.
The man, holder of a visit visa, was caught at the Dubai International Airport on June 20 after the customs inspectors found him trying to smuggle cannabis in ten pieces of candies.
The drugs, contained in the candies, which were seized from him weighed 178,67 grams.
He was then referred to the General Department of Anti- Narcotics. He has been charged with importing and possession of drugs for personal use.
He is currently in provisional detention.
The hearing has been adjourned to September 29.
