Dubai man sexually harasses woman in lift

Dubai - The woman, 29, said it was around midnight when she had just walked into the lift in the building in the Chinese cluster when she spotted the defendant coming.

A 23-year-old man has been charged in the Court of First Instance with sexually harassing a woman resident while alone with her in a lift.
The Pakistani, a vendor, denied the charge in court.

He allegedly touched the Chinese woman twice against her will.
The incident happened in a building in the International City on November 15.

The woman, 29, said it was around midnight when she had just walked into the lift in the building in the Chinese cluster when she spotted the defendant coming.
"I waited for him to take the lift too. As I reached the second floor I was surprised by him touching my behind," she told the prosecutor.

She looked at him angrily but he remained calm as if he did not do anything wrong.
"When I tried to walk out he touched me again and he had that look on his face that did not care about my reaction," she said.

She complained against him.
He admitted the charge in the public prosecution investigation.

The court will hand down a ruling on February 12.
