An Emirati man has been arrested for sexually abusing a Kuwaiti woman after he entered her home at dawn.
The 32-year-old O.M R, who lives in Sharjah's Dibba, sexually assaulted the woman, A.H, on March 14 of this year.
According to the prosecution sheet, he entered the woman's house late at mid night and kissed her hand while touching her face and shoulder.
He has been booked under article 434,2 l366 of the UAE penal code, and the public prosecution has called for imposing a strict penality upon him.
The Sharjah police received information about the incident at 1:40 am that an unknown man had entered a woman's house, located in Al Yash area, after which the police immediately rushed to her home.
The victim said that while she was sleeping in her bed with her children, she suddenly woke up and found the man touching her body. The man dashed out of her home as she started screaming.
The woman managed to get the number plate of the accused's Nissan car.
The police issued a circular and caught the man after the woman identified him.
During police interrogation, the accused denied the accusation and said that he knew the woman, adding that he had given her his phone number when he met her in the area, where she sitting in her car.
"I parked my car near her car and got down to give her my phone number and then later I received a call from the police," O.M.R. said.
The Emirati denied entering her home during the court hearing, adding that he was in the area to visit a friend and had to use GPS to locate the home, suggesting that he was unfamiliar with the area.
He was charged with sexual assault and forced entry into someone's house.
