Abu Dhabi Police caught eight suspects, including five men and three women, in the possession of 398 bags containing narcotic substances called "spice."
Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammad Bu Rasheed, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said the drug found in their possession surpasses other industrial and traditional drugs.
He noted that the eight suspects, aged between 21 and 28 years old, also had more than Dh125,000 in their possession along with the narcotic substances.
Colonel Sultan Suwayeh Al Darmaki, Chief of the Anti-Drug Section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said that officials in charge to help eliminate drug peddlers, began monitoring the suspects when they first received confidential information about a group, who were heavily targeting young people in the community.
Those taken into custody for smuggling, promotion and selling of narcotics included two male college students, (GCC and Arab nationality), three Europeans visitors, as well as three women of different nationalities.
