Two Asian men charged for gambling activities in Sharjah

The Sharjah Sharia court charged two Asians for gambling.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials of Sharjah Police arrested the two accused while they were engaged in gambling activities in Al Arouba street in the emirate's Rolla area. They also seized money found in the men's possession.
A Sharjah Police lieutenant said that they were apprehended while playing cards; a sum of Dh130 was found on the first accused and the other suspects fled the scene.
During the court hearing, the first accused confessed that he was playing cards when he was caught, but denied that the sum found on him were earnings from gambling, saying that it was his own money. He also claimed having spent only Dh10 on the card game at the time of arrest.
Meanwhile, the second accused denied the accusation. The case is adjourned to October 31.
