Dubai - Dubai Civil Defence acts quickly; residents are being allowed in.

Barely a few minutes after a minor fire was seen in Pinnacle Tower in Dubai Marina, also known as Tiger tower, the Dubai Civil Defence has taken the situation under control, and is allowing residents back inside.
In the short clip, KT reporters saw smoke emanating from a house in the upper levels of the tower. Emergency units, already on guard, responded quickly and arrived on the scene in no time.
In a statement, Dubai Civil Defence told Khaleej Times that the minor fire started in a balcony. It was quickly put out thanks to the rapid response of emergency units.

More Tiger Tower residents speak to Khaleej Times regarding the fire. Many of them have been safely evacuated thanks to the rapid response of Dubai emergency teams. Mohammad from the US said he was in the gym. He didn't hear the alarm but sensed something was happening when he saw people leaving the building. He then also vacated.

Origins of the fire remain unknown, Muktar Karim a tenant who lives in the 60th floor of Tiger Tower said He looked down his window and saw thick black smoke coming up from the floors below. It was from a balcony somewhere on the 50th floor. "I got really scared because I thought the fire would spread up quickly. I left the building as soon as I could," he added.

KT reporters see residents stepping outside of the Tiger Tower. A tenant of the building, Lucy from Vietnam said that she did not hear the alarm in the building. She then noticed emergency units on the ground level and vacated the building.

The vicinity of Tiger Tower was quickly surrounded by fire trucks and ambulances who are currently battling the blaze.
