Dubai-based telecom company du is looking to compensate customers after a network outage  for several hours on Sunday left thousands of people disconnected.

Consumers had been facing network disturbances since morning on March 20, with many writing in to Khaleej Times with their complaints.

"Customer satisfaction is our key priority, and we are constantly in the process of enhancing our network and service standards, so that our customers are able to enjoy a superior and seamless user experience. We are currently looking into the best possible ways to compensate our customers who were affected by the mobile services degradation," the operator said in an emailed response to Khaleej Times.

For some surfers writing in to Khaleej Times, the outage lasted for over six hours, while others reported that services had been restored earlier.
