A spiritually developed nation
Rashida Shakir
India is a country that is technologically developing but is spiritually developed. India's natives are settled worldwide yet each one is truly Indian at heart. Indians are rich. We may not have hefty bank balances, but we live with big smiles, love and dignity. I am proud to be an Indian!

Every day is an adventure
Vanita Aachra
The things I miss about India - sounds of life, the people, colourful festivals, friends, rickshaw rides, home-cooked food, kadak chai, watching the India vs Pakistan with a zealous crowd and more. Every day is an adventure in India and I cherish and miss all of it on this very proud and special day for the country.

Celebrating a legacy
Neeraj Makhijani
I truly miss the celebrations back home. I remember all our friends and family would gather around and watch the Republic Day parade on TV with a lot of enthusiasm. Indian Republic Day celebrates the lively spirit of the country and its citizens. To celebrate this day is to celebrate the legacy of the nation and its amazing progress over the years.

Country full of pleasant surprises
Rohit Ramchandani
Though I was born and brought up in Dubai, the true essence of love is felt when you fly to your homeland. India continues to surprise me with every visit. The food, culture, colours and scenic beauty - everything packed into one country. When I'm away from my country, I miss the road trips to different parts of India, the joy of short summer vacations when I was in school, meeting cousins, and enjoying the big fat Indian weddings. My soul and heart will belong to my country always even though I continue to stay here. Jai Hind!

Missing the patriotic vibe
Sandiya N
Indian Republic Day is when the nation as a whole should reflect on the past built by our founding fathers, and learn from them as to how we need to carry the torch and work towards fulfilling those hopes and aspirations they had while forming the nation. This day reminds me of the patriotic vibe that fills the streets back home. Everyone is excited, the streets are buzzing with fun-filled activities, everyone gathers around to watch the parade and everyone is proud to be an Indian citizen.

Trip down memory lane
Kanchan A
Booking a ticket back home is filled with excitement, as you know that delicious naryal paani, faloodas, chaats, amazing weather and road trips await you upon arrival. In fact, it is the only country in my view where you get candies in return for spare change. Visiting grandparents, friends and reliving the memories of childhood along with celebrating festivals is what I miss the most. India is a vibrant country and there is no day better than today to laud its many achievements. I wish all fellow Indians a very Happy Republic Day!

Different but united as one
Juzer Husain Zaki
I have lived in the UAE for 35 years but India is my birthplace. I still get the scent of India. I have come to Dubai and implied my knowledge of India. My country has given me everything I needed. On January 26, our laws and policies were written down, which has taken into account the different cultures and religions present in the nation. We are the best because we are one even if we are different.

Ode to a golden heritage
Saifee Virpurwala
I was born and brought up in the UAE, but on this very special occasion of the Republic Day, I salute the country and its people who have made the nation a global power and a force to reckon with. On this day, I will celebrate the golden heritage of India and truly feel proud to be a part of its legacy.
