A lot of interesting events are set to be held across the UAE this weekend. We select some of the best events to make it an exciting week for you. Here are our pick of events to check out this weekend.
Shopping fest

Do you love shopping and want to save some cash at the same time? Then get ready for a rewarding shopping experience as the 3-day Super Sale, a new citywide retail initiative, kicks off today all over the city. Over 1,000 outlets will be offering a diverse range of items from local, regional and global brands, at significantly low prices. On offer are apparel, bags, shoes, cosmetics, perfumes and more.
Date Festival

Don't miss out your date with tradition. On show at the festival will be various types of dates and recipes alongside cakes and beverages made from dates. It's a free event. Be there!

Ramadan Trunk Show

It's the perfect time to enjoy an exclusive shopping bonanza. Boulevard One swings open the trunk of fashion for trendsetters aiming to look their best during the many social outings taking place in the holy month and the ensuing Eid holidays. Browse through the latest collections of clothing, jewellery and shoes from India, Pakistan and local designers. This show will be open for only two days, so grab the opportunity to don your individual look for the season.

Tyga, Busta rhymes and Jeremih to headline @Base

Base Dubai ends its summer season with an exciting line-up of international stars taking to the stage. On Thursday, Busta Rhymes will headline the event. Busta is sure to win your hearts with his mix of ragga and hip-hop hits. Whilst on Friday, the venue will host the official after-party for Arab Fashion Week (running at Meydan Hotel until Saturday), with a performance by Jeremih. Music lovers can celebrate the weekend listening to sets by M.O.S, Magnum, AIK and Chuck Wonderland. Then on Saturday, BASE closes its doors for the summer, but not before American rapper Tyga performs an exclusive set of his hits like Rack City, Faded and Feel Me. Mika & Daler live

Bollywood and Punjabi music lovers are in for a huge treat when one of the most famous Bollywood siblings, singers Mika Singh and Daler Mehndi perform for the first time at Za'abeel Hall 6 Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday. With hits such as Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag, Ae Ganpat, Mauja Hi Mauja and Dhinka Chika, Mika is one of the most-sought after crooners in the Hindi movie industry.  Daler is credited with bringing Bhangra rap-pop into the limelight with with his debut album Bolo Ta Ra Ra. Museum day

The Sharjah Museums Department is marking the International Museum Day on Thursday and Friday at Dubai Festival City. There are loads of interesting things to experience including traditional Emirati music, culture and dance. Also get your hands on an actual  archaeological piece unearthed at Mleiha.
Desi style

Ethnic Asian outfit lovers, this exhibition taking place at Al Naadi Club, Al Ghurair Apts, Deira on Friday is for those who love Indian and Pakistani oufits. On show are salwars, kurtis, sarees, bed spreads, party wear and  traditional jewellery. Not only that, there will also be stalls selling Asian foodstuff.
Howzat is back!

It's all about love, tolerance, and humanity. Howzat - a play based in Dubai is the first full-length script in English to be locally written and based. After a successful first run in December 2016 it's back on stage - from Thursday to Saturday at The Junction, Al Serkal Avenue. Evening shows at 7.30pm with a matinee show on Saturday at 3pm. Freshly ground

Freshly Ground Sounds is heading out to close Season IV on Saturday. Whilst Team Freshly are sad to say farewell to the community gigs (for the season) there's an exciting line-up of 16 different artists including Esther Eden, Abbo, Physical Graffiti, Julius, Abby Shankar, Peter Martin and more. At A4 Space, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz. It's a free concert, go for it!
Laugh it out!

In need of a laugh? We got you covered! Go for an evening of laughs as students of Dubomedy Arts School present Comedy Mix-Tape: Stand-up & Improv Comedy Special at Centre for Musical Arts in Gold & Diamond Park on Saturday . The performance will include a blend of original stand-up sets, improv' games, audience participation and special appearances from Improv Revolution troupe members. This is the longest running comedy show featuring locally based up and coming comedians since 2008.  RSVP@dubomedy.com
Just laughs

Prepare for a musical adventure on Friday and Saturday at Hartland Theatre, Hartland International School, Nad Al Sheba. Robbie's Supersonic Rocket is a spell-binding children's musical based on the book by Hazel Hiles. It's produced by husband-wife duo Andy and Hazel. Visit www.platinumlist.net
Police Cycle Race and Bike Parade

The iconic Abu Dhabi Corniche to Yas Island Cycle Race is back, starting and finishing at Nation Towers on the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The 'We Are All Police' event takes cyclists to Yas Island and back, covering 70km. Supported by Abu Dhabi Police, the event will also feature a non-competitive Bike Parade starting after the race, covering a 16-km route towards Mina Port and back.
