Baskin-Robbins, the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, opened its first-ever Dessert Café in the UAE on Saturday. The new café at Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai officially opened its doors with grand celebrations attended by members of the Galadari family, top executives from Galadari Ice Cream Co Ltd and Baskin-Robbins.
"We are excited about this new concept and are delighted to introduce our first-ever Baskin-Robbins Dessert Café to the public and launch our delicious range of signature desserts to the country," said John Varughese, vice-president, Dunkin' Brands International. "We, alongside the Galadari team, look forward to this initiative and to bringing the brand and our guests a bigger and more exclusive dessert experience in the Middle East."
While the new Baskin-Robbins Dessert Café in Dubai will continue to feature the brand's menu of premium ice cream flavours, as well as its other classic offerings like shakes, cakes and sundaes, the experience doesn't end there. The café will also serve an exciting range of crepes, pancakes, waffles, bubble waffles, pastries, ice cream sandwiches, loaded ice cream bars and a wide range of hot and cold coffees.
Keeping things local, the café will also offer popular Arabic sweets such as Baklava, Kunafa and Bulbul Nest alongside its ice creams. The café, which will feature elegant community seating for guests to enjoy their ice cream treats with large groups of friends and family, also includes many digital features such as a social media live feed and video wall, offering a fun dine-in experience.
"The launch of Baskin-Robbins Dessert Café is one that we're all extremely excited about. We can't wait for everyone to experience the innovative new range of exclusive desserts that will be available at the new café," said Shabeer Shah, general manager for Galadari Ice Cream Co Ltd. "The Dessert Café is a whole new world of delicious treats opened to us, and our guests and we hope this becomes a creative space for them to combine and create their favourite desserts with their favourite ice creams!"
Galadari Ice Cream Co Ltd., a Baskin-Robbins franchisee for nearly 40 years, operates more than 800 Baskin-Robbins shops across the Middle East. Additionally, the company is a joint venture partner with Dunkin' Brands for the Baskin-Robbins business in Australia, where there are currently more than 80 locations.
Baskin-Robbins is the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, providing guests with a wide array of ice cream flavours and delicious treats at more than 8,000 retail shops in 55 countries around the world.
