Samsung Gulf on Thursday announced that it will be offering two options for owners of the now-infamous and recalled Galaxy Note7 in the region.
On its official website, the South Korean company said customers can either obtain a full refund or exchange their Note7s for a Galaxy S7 Edge, the latter coming with a refund of the price difference in the form of cash and products.
The Note7 was originally sold for Dh2,999; the S7 Edge, meanwhile, is currently priced at Dh2,599. No date was specified on the announcement.
"We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation," Samsung said in the statement.
"We are putting in place a process to facilitate the exchange and refund of devices and will inform the Galaxy Note7 owners of next steps at the earliest."
Earlier on Thursday, Samsung's units in South Korea and the United States offered the same incentives to its customers.
