It's winter, but Abu Dhabi is all set for summer fun!

Abu Dhabi - Full details of this year's Summer Season programme of shows, events and promotions will be announced in the coming months.

Spectacular shows and children's theatre will be back this summer in Abu Dhabi, when the Abu Dhabi Summer Season returns. The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCM), organiser of the festival, announced that the annual programme of shows will be back from July 7, running until September 11.
"Last year's superb summer season witnessed a significant increase in the number of guest arrivals into the emirate, up a highly impressive 21 per cent over the same period the previous year," said Sultan Al Dhaheri, acting Executive Director of Tourism at TCA.
"We will be looking to build on this success by offering another fantastic array of entertainment and promotions during our 2016 Summer Season, targeting key markets across the GCC, India and certain European countries including the UK, France and Germany," he added.
Full details of this year's Summer Season programme of shows, events and promotions will be announced in the coming months, with UAE-based event companies confirming a line-up of leading international shows.
Last year there were 12 national and international shows run under the Abu Dhabi Summer Season umbrella, brought to various parts of Abu Dhabi emirate by different entertainment companies.
"We had two events organised in 2015 for Summer Season; one of them was the Shreya Ghoshal concert, which sold out 10 days prior to the show, and was absolutely amazing. Then we had Comedy Friday with four major comedians partnering on the same night. It was a wonderful line-up," said Kamyar Khalili, managing director of YAK Events.
The 2015 festival, which ran from June 11 to September 5, attracted 951,979 guest arrivals into the emirate. The number of visitors from India showed the largest increase during the period, rising 29.8 per cent from 2014.
