London - Harzand, owned by Aga Khan and saddled by Pat Smullen, rode to victory in the 1.5 mile Derby 2016.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the Epsom Derby at Epsom Downs Racecourse, today.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the UK, also watched the seven-round race. Since the first participation in the greatest flat race in the world in 1989, the UAE riders have won seven cups.
Harzand, owned by Aga Khan and saddled by Pat Smullen, rode to victory in the 1.5 mile Derby 2016.
The UAE riders put up a magnificent performance with Postponed, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Obeid Al Maktoum and saddled by Andrea Atzeni, winning the Queen Elizabeth Coronation Cup.
Among those who attended the race were Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Princess Haya bint Hussein, wife of Shaikh Mohammed and a number of Shaikhs, senior officials, owners and breeders as well as a crowd of fans.
