UAE will mark Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday (Rabi Al Awwal 12) on Sunday, December 11, which will result in a long holiday.
In 2015, a paid holiday had been declared for the public and private sector on December 24 to mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Ministries and government departments remained closed on Thursday (December 24) to mark the birthday.

A circular is yet to be issued by Ministry of Labour, as per the provisions of Article 74 of the Federal Law No.8 of 1980 concerning labour relations and its amendments.
