Sharjah - During the holy month of Ramadan, the group distribute iftar meals.

Last few Fridays have been special to hundreds of labourers in the Sajja Industrial Area and other areas in Sharjah.
They were presented with gift hampers by around 30 volunteers including children. The hampers contained towel, bed sheet, soup packets, soap, shampoo, detergent, tea packets, flavoured milk tetra packs, samosas, fruit buns and many fruits.
This was a special gala hamper to bring some cheer to the workers for the New Year, said Roshni Raimalwala, project manager for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects by Medulla Events and Marketing DMCC.
When most of the UAE residents are in deep slumber early on Friday mornings, this visit to labour camps with food and gifts has been a routine for Roshni and her team of volunteers with the "Care2Share" initiative, an in-house CSR project of Medulla, for over a year now.

"We are a team, committed to look beyond our little comfort zone and peek into the lives of the less unfortunate, to try and make a difference in their worlds as well," Roshni told Khaleej Times.
As part of Care2Share, every Friday morning, the team visits various labour camps across Dubai and Sharjah to distribute raw food, cooked food, toiletries, clothes, etc to the low income group men, ladies and families.
"It is an ongoing activity every week of the year. During the holy month of Ramadan, we distribute iftar meals. During festive seasons like Eid, Diwali, Christmas, we distribute special hampers."
Ursula Manvatkar, managing director of Medulla, said the Care2Share team has supported individuals and corporate groups to connect with workers and other groups working for the needy.
"Many people wish to do something for the workers. Some want to give them food on special days, some want to give them gifts. But they don't know the ways to do it.Here is where we can help them," she said.
The group has coordinated and facilitated distribution of food and gifts by individuals, families and corporates on various occasions.
Bringing a smile to the face of workers gives the best satisfaction to Roshni and team.
"Sometimes, they just need to feel that someone is there to care for them.That makes a big difference in their lives.Community service awareness is on the increase amongst many schools, corporates, social groups and individuals who contact us to help facilitate distribution to the labour camps.That is a big achievement for us," she said.
