An Arab youth has stood trial at the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court, charged with stealing Dh8,000 from a salon before flying home.
As per court records, the suspect admitted to his crime and told the police and public prosecution during the interrogation that he stole the money for the treatment of his sick father.
The defendant submitted a receipt showing that he returned the money to the salon immediately after his return, adding that the unexpected sickness of his father was the reason that forced him to steal the money.
He was shocked to know that the owner of the salon filed a complaint against him though he told a colleague that he took the money in emergency and would return it.
The first witness told the court that the suspect returned the money immediately after returning from leave as the owner of the salon was not aware about it.
He added that the accused did not steal the money and took it as a loan only.
The witness also submitted a waiver from the owner of the hairdresser shop after understanding all the circumstances.
