Sharjah Police is investigating the death of a 3-year-old Saudi national girl who fell from a window of her house on the 11th floor of a Sharjah high-rise located in Jamal Abdul Nasser area near Al Buhairah police station.

The little girl, identified as Ghadeer Y.S., died on the spot after falling from the building, police said.

The girl was found dead when a team of police, patrol, forensic experts and ambulance rushed to the site. The body was shifted to a forensic laboratory to determine the cause of death.

The girl's parents were taken into custody for interrogation, to determine whether the accident was due to negligence on their part or not.

According to police, the girl climbed the window when her mother was busy in the kitchen and the father was not at home.

Police said this is the second incident of a child falling from a high-rise, after a 21-month-old Arab boy fell from the third floor of a building in Al Taawun area in Sharjah.

Police have launched intensified awareness campaigns to educate the parents about the negligence of children, which could lead to serious injuries, even their deaths.

He urged parents of ensuring safety of their children at home and not to depend on maids, by locking up doors of balconies and securing windows and remove all objects near windows and balconies that could be used by children to climb and fall.
