A tragic accident in Sharjah killed three Egyptian children and left their mother and young brothers seriously injured. The accident took place on Friday on Al Dhaid-Weshah Road in central area of Sharjah.
The accident occurred, when a speeding truck jumped the red light and crashed into the car which was carrying the family.
The deceased include A.M.A, 14 old years, A.MA, 13 years old and S.M.A. 6 years old. Their mother identified as M.A.S, 37 years old received minor injuries and boys M.M.A. 8 years and W.A.A, 3 years old are fighting for their lives in the ICU.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Col. Haran Mubarak, Director of the Central Area Police Station said that they received a call about the accident which involved the small car and a heavy truck. The police patrol, traffic expert and ambulance and civil defence arrived at the spot and found the family members stuck in their destroyed car. The police, in coordination with civil defence, managed to remove the six members of the family. The police found that the three children - two girls and a boy died on the spot; they rushed the mother and her two boys to the emergency room in Al Dhaid Hospital.
The driver of the truck which caused the accident didn't receive any injuries and has been arrested by Al Dhaid Police for interrogation.
Col. Mubarak urged motorists to follow the rules and instructed the heavy truck drivers to have enough rest and sleep before driving their vehicle to avoid such kind of fatal accident.
