Two cars were gutted in a fire in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain on Monday morning.
The central operations room of the UAQ Police, having been alerted of the collision, dispatched traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in a record time.
A senior official said a car first caught fire here at the Old Umm Al Quwain city around 6.50.
Col Hassan Ali Mohammed bin Sarm, director of the civil defence department in Umm Al Quwain, said the flames spread to another car that was close to the one on fire.
"The two cars were totally destroyed in the blaze," he said. "However, none was hurt in the incident."
Investigations are on to identify the reasons behind the fire, he said. "The fire case has been referred to the legal authorities concerned for legal action."
