The Sharjah Police have arrested two Afghanis for possessing large quantities of counterfeit goods which is in violation of the UAE laws. The organised crime section of the Department of Criminal Investigation received information that the two suspects were bringing quantities of goods into the country.

After verifying the information the police investigated the matter, identified the two suspects and arrested them.
During interrogation they confessed that they possessed counterfeit goods including cosmetics. They claimed that the goods were brought to Sharjah to be to reexported.
After completion of legal procedures and inspection of the warehouse, the police seized the goods and referred the suspects to the prosecution.

The Director of the Department of Criminal Investigation in Sharjah, Colonel Ibrahim Al Ajil, said the Sharjah Police will continue its efforts to curb all practices that are in violation of the laws of the country. He called on members of the community to cooperate with the police and report on anything that raises suspicion, and to call the police on 901 or toll-free number 065 631 111.
