The Dubai Police have nabbed seven Asians and seized 7.4kg of heroin and 55.73 grams of crystal meth in four separate operations during the last three months. This was revealed by Brigadier Eid Mohammad Thani Hareb, director of the anti-narcotic department of the Dubai Police, on Monday.
In the first incident, the police arrested an Asian with visit visa who swallowed 242 heroin pills weighing 1.9kg and hid it in his stomach to give authorities a slip.
Acting on a tip-off, the police officials raided the hotel apartment in Sharjah where he was putting up and caught the smuggler. They took him to Rashid Hospital and recovered the pills. The cops also found drugs kept inside a bag in his room.

In another operation with their Sharjah counterparts, the Dubai Police caught an Asian suspect after raiding his hotel apartment. As many as 140 heroin pills - weighing 1.1 kg - were found in his possession. The police also seized Dh1,500 which was given to him by a drug trafficker in his homeland for smuggling the pills into the UAE.
In the third incident, two Asian drug peddlers were nabbed in Al Ain following an operation by the Dubai Police, in cooperation with their Abu Dhabi counterparts.
They recovered 284 pills of heroin weighing 2.3kg in addition to 55,73 grams of crystal meth.
In a separate operation, the Dubai Police arrested two Asians and seized 2kg of heroin from them.
During police interrogation, the duo confessed that drugs were given to them by an accomplice, who was caught later. The three were referred to Dubai public prosecution for possessing and smuggling drugs.
