The Dubai Police have arrested a European man - visiting the country as a tourist - for using fake credit card while trying to pay for his stay in the hotel, Al Khaleej reported on Sunday.
The tariffs and bills amounted to Dh135,000 which the man tried to settle with the bogus card. 
The accused had put up in a hotel for a few days, and while checking out, gave the fake credit card for payment, said Colonel Omar bin Hammad, director of anti-economic crimes department. However, when the card got rejected, he refused to pay up and fled the hotel, he added.
The police were informed about the incident. A team was formed to gather evidence and probe initiated. The cops tracked the man to a new hotel, where he was hiding.
The police swooped down on his hotel room and nabbed him from there.
After being grilled, the man admitted that he had a lot of fake credit cards, and that he used them often to dupe people.
