The Dubai Police recently solved the mystery surrounding the death of an Indian who was found lying in a pool of blood in his room in Ras Al Khor.
The man, identified as M.R, was a hotel employee and was living in a company accommodation along with two other colleagues. On the fateful day, M.R. did not go to work and failed to respond when his boss called him. Sensing something fishy, M.R's colleague along with another senior staff member went to the his room to check on him. On entering his room, they found M.R. lying in a pool of blood, with stab wounds on his chest and neck.
The police launched investigation and suspected his roommate, a Nepali, to be behind the murder. On questioning him and two more of his friends, the police found them giving contradictory statements and denying the accusation. The police then collected evidence and confronted the suspect who confessed that he committed the crime.
He told the police that he was in the room when the victim came to him and they consumed alcohol. The two then got into a heated argument about the Nepali's girlfriend, who also worked in the same hotel and who was once sexually harassed by M.R.
The enraged Nepali then went to the kitchen and brought a knife and stabbed M.R. repeatedly four times, killing him on the spot. He then locked the room, went outside the building and threw the key of the room. Witnesses living in the nearby rooms said that they heard screams from the victim's room but by the time they went to check, they found his door locked.
