Pakistani cricket star Shahid Afridi has come to the rescue of Pakistani prisoners imprisoned in Dubai.
The sports star's philanthropic foundation 'Shahid Afridi Foundation' played a pivotal role to initiate the release of 30 prisoners, Geo News reported.
Taking to social media on Tuesday to announce the initiative, Afridi lauded the Dubai Police for their 'large heartedness and generous' assistance in facilitating the release and repatriation of the prisoners.
The legend hopes that the released Pakistanis can start life afresh after returning home.

Hailed as Pakistan's cricketing hero, Afridi's foundation is involved in various philanthropic activities, including building hospitals, providing clean drinking water in remote areas and education in US, UK, UAE and Pakistan.
Afridi recently launched a cricket tournament in the UAE, 'Zalmi World Cup'. Starting from January 28, the tournament aims to promote a 'soft image' of Pakistan.
