Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, founder of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), highlighted the importance of a reproduction rights organisation for the Arab world at the Emirates Reproduction Rights Forum, which began on Monday in Sharjah.
The two-day event, which began on the Flag Island in Sharjah, is aimed at significantly boosting the UAE's creative economy and safeguarding the rights of all those involved in the creative arts industry.
Bringing together an elite group of experts and key speakers from the publishing sector, book industry and intellectual realm, the forum discussed a range of issues around reproduction rights.
During the opening speech, Shaikha Bodour said: "Our main goal from organising this forum is to raise awareness about the role of creative industries and to highlight the importance of establishing reproduction rights management organisations. Protecting reproduction rights is a priority in supporting the artists and their work in the UAE."
