The countdown for the holy month of Ramadan has begun as it is slated to begin on May 26. Dubai residents would agree that the chaotic pace of the city slows down during the month-long period.
Although not a touristy season, Ramadan is the most fitting time to visit the emirates if you want to explore the local flavour of the city.

1. Enjoy an Iftar feast
Ramadan is the time when the community comes together to enjoy a huge spread in the evenings as everybody gathers to break the fast. Don't worry as most restaurants remain open and serve food behind the screen until the sunset. Also, dress modestly as it is the holy month and you would want to blend in the flavour rather than stand out.
3. Visit mosques to soak in the festivities
Being a holy month, many spend their time in prayers and head to the mosques. Join them if you want to understand the religious significance of the Ramadan. Take guided tours to understand the relevance of the fast in today's fast-paced life. Do follow the decorum while visiting these places of worship as a respect to the local culture.

6. Explore without queues
If you want to skip the huge queues at touristy destinations, Ramadan is the time to visit Dubai. You can royally stroll the malls, visit the famous tourist destinations like Burj Khalifa, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Wild Wadi water park as they won't be overcrowded. Enjoy the less-touristy vibe of the city.
