Women's Fest to promote organic farming methods

Experts will shed light on the methods of organic farming at a Women's Fest being organised by a Facebook group in Dubai on Friday.
The women-only fest, organised by Vayalum Veedum (Farm & Home), a group established in 2008, will be held at the Gulf Model School from 3pm.
Experts will provide advices on organic farming, in addition to distributing plants and seeds to the attendees. The event will also discuss toxic foods, wrong dietary practices and lifestyles that attract diseases in order to encourage women to practise better lifestyle.
The programme will be inaugurated by Jehaina Hassan Al Ali, Chief Food Studies and Surveys Officer in the Food Safety Department of the Dubai Municipality. The activities also include an exhibition of organic agricultural products, quiz contest and cultural programmes.
Mini Alias, senior farming coordinator in the group, will lecture on best agricultural practices. The festival will also be addressed by Malayalam actor Aswathy Menon and author Honey Bhaskaran.
