Exploring the myriad retail and leisure attractions in The Dubai Mall, the flagship development of Emaar Malls, now has a smart choice - electric cars that ply within the mall.
The world's largest shopping and entertainment destination, Dubai, is setting a world-first with the launch of two electric cars for guests, who can explore the various retail outlets and leisure attractions and conveniently shop around with a chauffeur-driven electric car at their service.
The introduction of the electric cars for visitors to The Dubai Mall marks a new leap in redefining the in- mall visitor experience. With the adoption of the electric cars, the mall is also supporting the green vision of the nation through the use of clean power. The smart initiative will further enhance the convenience of visitors, and enable them to access the mall's varied attractions effortlessly.
The launch of the electric cars within The Dubai Mall closely follows the introduction of driver-less, autonomous 10-seater car, in partnership with the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) to cover the vibrant Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai.
The autonomous vehicles underline Emaar's commitment to supporting the Smart Dubai vision announced by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

How to hire the service?

The new electric cars being introduced in The Dubai Mall will initially serve visitors for commuting the length and breadth of the ground floor, which features a wide range of retail stores including flagship fashion outlets at the Fashion Avenue, The Souk, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and many more.
Visitors only have to contact the Guest Services Desk to hire the electric car. The cars will be driven by Guest Service personnel, who are specially trained for the service. The cars will be charged at the dedicated stations located by The Waterfall, set up by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
Each electric car can accommodate four guests, who can reserve for specific point-to- point rides. Between service, the electric car will be parked by The Waterfall Atrium, Fashion Catwalk and Grand Atrium. Electric car rides would also be offered as an alternative to the VIP buggies that are currently used as a value-add for the Personalised Shopping Experience offered for guests.
