Dubai - Authorities have urged motorists to drive with caution on slippery roads.

Rain hit several parts of the country on Tuesday morning, causing havoc on the roads as commuters drove at a snail's pace to work.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology on Tuesday morning reported rain in Al Rahba, Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
Authorities have urged motorists to drive with caution on slippery roads.

"Please leave enough and safe space between your car and the car in front of you," Dubai Police tweeted.

An accident was reported on Rashid bin Saeed Street in Abu Dhabi, resulting in heavy congestion.
In Dubai, an accident was reported on E11 Al Itihad Road after Ansar Mall in Sharjah.
Another accident was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road after MOE / First Gulf Bank Metro Station towards World Trade Centre, resulting in heavy congestion and delays, according to TrafficDXB.
Similary, long tailbacks were also reported on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road as motorists drove from Sharjah to Dubai.
