This persistent rainfall had an adverse effect on driving conditions around the UAE. Multiple accidents along Dubai roads increased the congestion in certain areas.
While those commuting by cars and buses faced bad traffic, Dubai Metro passengers too faced tough time. Long queues were seen at the Metro stations as residents tried to escape traffic.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to make the most out of the morning rush.
According to TrafficDXB, the intense traffic conditions could well be attributed to the rain. In light of this, they sent out several tweets to brighten the mood of motorists who might experience congestion on the roads.

Accidents occurred in different locations along Sheikh Zayed Road from both directions causing massive tailbacks.

Gulfood also kicks off today at Dubai World Trade Centre. Visitors and participants are advised of congestion all over the city on their way to the venue.

Another Dubai thoroughfare, Hessa Street also faced a similar situation in the morning with an accident taking place near the Al Khail Intersection inbound to Jumeirah.

TrafficDXB also alerted motorists of massive traffic piling up on the Business Bay Bridge going towards Abu Dhabi.
In neighbouring Sharjah, conditions are compounded because of the multiple accidents in Dubai. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. (Video by Shahid/KT Reader)
