A young Egyptian student has died in a traffic accident on Sharjah's Maliha Road.
The 19-year-old American University of Sharjah student died on the spot while his Syrian friend received minor injuries.                  
According to a police official, the deceased - identified as A.M.T - was  speeding on his way to Ajman when he lost control, causing the car to turn over several times.
The injured passenger has been identified as T.M.A.
Police rushed to the site of the accident after being informed about the accident around 3pm.
The injured student has been transferred to Al Qasimi hospital. The dead driver's body has been shifted to a morgue.
The injured student said that they were planning to have lunch with their friends in Ajman.
A.M.T last spoke to his family, based in Saudi Arabia, before leaving their accomodation.
