"To sacrifice one's soul and blood in the service of the nation is an honour to anyone."
This is how the distraught father of the UAE martyr Abdullah Mohammed Eissa Al Hammadi reacted to the news of his beloved son's martyrdom.
"The martyr - based in Khor Fakkan of the emirate of Sharjah - has long joined the Coast Guard here, during which he was known for his sincerity and dedication."
He said the martyr has four children. "They are Hoor, Muhanad, Mayed and Hamdan. The youngest one is only two years old."
The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces on Tuesday announced the martyrdom of serviceman Al Hammadi while on duty.
The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces offered its condolences to the family of the martyr, praying to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in eternal peace, and bestow solace on his family.
Mohammed Abdullah, a neighbour of the martyr, said that he was known for his kindness. "He was so kind, gentle and helpful to everyone."
Saeed S., a relative of the martyr, was so deeply grieved to know about the death, but controlled himself and said he was proud about his bravery and martyrdom.
"He sacrificed his blood and soul for his country, people and leaders," he said, praying Almighty Allah to forgive him and accept him as a martyr. "His martyrdom makes us all walk tall."
The martyr was a brother to everyone, and never thought twice for helping others, Ashraf Akram, a friend of the martyr said. "He was so kind, helpful, and dedicated to his family, relatives, and above all his nation and leaders."
