The 2017 Pink Caravan Ride is set to begin from the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club on March 7.
Launched in 2011, the ride, which is set to conclude its 10-day journey in Abu Dhabi on March 17, will dispense free medical screenings to all community segments across the seven emirates.
Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, founder and royal patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients, recently urged the Emirati community and the media to support the Pink Caravan's mission towards establishing a global model for breast cancer awareness.
Khaleej Times takes a look at some of the significant features of the Pink Caravan Ride:
What is the Pink Caravan Ride?
With the theme '7 Years for 7 Emirates," the Pink Caravan Ride will see over 100 riders, accompanied by medical personal and staff, travel across all seven emirates offering free breast cancer screenings to all men and women. It will also spread awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and help dispel myths surrounding the disease.

One of the highlights of this year's Pink Caravan is the inauguration of a fixed medical clinic in each of the seven emirates.
